[Note: This special procedure should no longer be necessary. See last post below.]

Hey all,

Those of you trying to access Selye from Golgi need to do the following:

prompt>> rm ~/net/selye/data
prompt>> mkdir ~/net/selye/data
prompt>> cifsmount //selye/data ~/net/selye/data

NOTE: This is different from the other servers because Selye's location within the Duke Medical Center firewall prevents the Sharity server from broadcasting for Selye's share information. Thus, both the cifsmount command and the cifslogin needs to be issued for Selye every time the Sharity server is rebooted.

the suggested commands for connecting to Selye do not seem to work

[morey@golgi: ~] $ rm ~/net/selye/data
rm: /home/morey/net/selye/data: A file or directory in the path name does not exist.
[morey@golgi: ~] $ rmdir ~/net/selye/data
rmdir: 0653-609 Cannot remove /home/morey/net/selye/data.
A file or directory in the path name does not exist.
[morey@golgi: ~] $ mkdir ~/net/selye/data
mkdir: 0653-357 Cannot access directory /home/morey/net/selye.
/home/morey/net/selye: A file or directory in the path name does not exist.
[morey@golgi: ~] $ cifsmount //selye/data ~/net/selye/data
morey's password on selye:
FRW: Mount point does not exist

This special procedure should no longer be necessary now that we have changed IP subnets. See this forum topic for the standard procedure.
